http://www.worldsnooker.com/page/thismo ... 19,00.htmlWorld Snooker has teamed up with the Blackpool Gazette in a search to find local stars to bring glitz and glamour to their first ever Snooker Shoot-Out event.
Next month Blackpool will see sporting heroes such as Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan, legends Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis, Jimmy White and current Betfred.com World Champion Neil Robertson descend on Blackpool for this innovative new tournament which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The one frame knockout competition will take place at the Circus Arena, Blackpool Tower from 28-30 January and World Snooker are looking for four girls to support the players and walk them in and out of the arena.
Winning players will have the pleasure of being walked out of the arena by the Blackpool Beauties...while losing players will be ejected out by two burley bouncers.
We need two bouncers with character who will enter into the spirit of the event and escort players through the "walk of shame" as they exit the arena.
If you would like the opportunity to bring glamour to a top sporting event, appear live on TV and meet the world's top snooker stars, then apply now!
Entrants should be confident, not camera shy, over 18 years of age and should be available between 28-30 January.
To apply simply send an email to
info@worldsnooker.com and attach a full length photo. In your email please include your name, age, contact details and in less than 200 words a bit about yourself and why you would be good for this role.
The deadline for entries is 31 December 2010. World Snooker will then shortlist the entries and will ask Gazette readers to chose their finalists from a shortlist of ten girls and ten bouncers. Winners will be notified by 14 January.
and heres me thinking bouncers and beauties was the same thing

I think they should make the people that are stupid enough to pay for this the walk of shame.

I'm surprised all of the players have agreed to do this, to be honest. The short format is bordering on the acceptability line, but why do we need bouncers to come in and carry somebody off for losing a 10 minute, 20/10 shot clock event off for? It's just making people look like red frogs, for no reason.
"What do you mean you can't run a 3-minute mile? That's it get the bouncers in."

Anyone who thinks this event has anything to do with snooker is worryingly mistaken.

Awk I don't mind it, its a good chance for the players to earn some extra money. Especially the players down the rankings; I would like to see someone like Hamilton or Hawkings win it. A player that has worked hard all their career but just missed out.

Perhaps, but not necessarily. You could do an Ebdon-stle 12 break, and win the match.
