The eighth week of the Premier League sees the Premier League return to the south-west of England with the first casualty of the competition confirmed when Ding Junhui suffered his second heavy defeat in a row at the hands of Marco Fu and bow out of the league on 4 points. Fu's win put him top while O'Sullivan extended his unbeaten start of 3 draws and a win when he defeated Mark Williams 4-2, who still harbours strong claims of qualifying. This week's fixtures feature the current World champion Neil Robertson taking on Fu, who will seal his place in the last four if he can beat the Australian. The night's other match will be Mark Selby up against Shaun Murphy who also remain in the hunt for a last-four spot.
Live coverage will be on SkySports3Thursday 4 November1930 BST: Marco Fu 4-2

If Selby wins tonight he is basically in the SF's. If Robbo wins his match he will be in a very strong position.

Yea pretty much. I guess Fu is the only one that can be 100% through with a win.

Basically if Fu and Selby win tonight, i think we already are pretty much sure of the top 4 barring some kinda dramatic turnaround.

If they bring in a shot clock for a ranking event of a maximum of 25 seconds then there should be another one for a minimum of 25 seconds. Why should it favour one style and not the other. It would be like football bringing in an under head height rule.

Ranking tournaments should be played giving all players equal chance of winning.
