Up to 16 islanders can enter this prediction contest, on a first come, first served basis.
Round 1 (up to 16 entrants)
After entering, you will be allocated 8 players at random (all from different groups)
Predict all the scores of matches involving your assigned players.
The 8 entrants with the highest scores at the end of round 1 progress to round 2
Round 2 (8 entrants)
Choose 4 players' matches to predict
If you finish 1st in round 1, you can select your players first. If you finished 8th, you will be allocated the remaining 4 players after the other 7 entrants have finished choosing.
The 4 participants with the highest scores in round 2 progress to the final.
Final (4 participants)
Choose 2 players' matches to predict.
If you finished 1st in round 2, you have the first choice of 2 final round players' matches to predict.
Points scoring
You can score between 0-4 points for each prediction.
Correct score: 4 points
1 frame out: 3 points
2 frames out: 2 points
3 frames out: 1 point
4 frames out: 0 points
Examples:
You predict 2-0. The score is 2-0. You get 4 points.
You predict 2-0. The score is 2-1. You get 3 points.
You predict 2-1. The score is 1-2. You get 2 points.
You predict 2-0. The score is 1-2. You get 1 point.
You predict 2-0. The score is 0-2. You get 0 points.
Withdrawals - If a player withdraws and no replacement player enters, participants are awarded 2 points for that match by default.
Points from round 1 do not carry over to round 2 (Round 2, all 8 entrants start from 0).
Points from round 2 similarly do not carry over to the final round.
Tie breakers:
Round 1 - The earlier entrant to the competition wins (or is placed higher).
Round 2 - The entrant with the higher round 1 score wins (or is placed higher).
Final - The entrant with the higher round 2 score wins.
Please can someone move this to the predictions thread?

I already moved this to the Predicts section.
I see Alex had a great idea at The Masters and now it's being followed, great. I intend to enter.

I've assigned a number to each player based on when they are playing (the first group, playing on the 18th are numbered 1-8, the second group on the 19th are 9-16 etc.)
I then use Google random number generator to pick a player from each bracket of 16 players to each entrant.
So everyone should have a different player's matches to predict once every 2 days of the competition.

Unfortunately, we don't have as many entrants as hoped for.
More people are of course still welcome to enter. If we get any new entrants, their first player will come from tomorrow's group.
If we end up with 8 or more people, we'll stick with the original format.
If we don't get more entrants, everyone can play the full contest, and points will carry over between rounds.
For those of you who have already entered, thank you for your support, it means a lot to me.

I'd be happy to play, but, as yet, I still haven't worked out how the tournament works. I did google it and read in full detail the workings of it, but it still made no sense to me. I'll put some more work in later today, but I feel too intimidated by my ignorance of the format to know even where to begin competing for this one
