You don't know that you'll be playing. And you are told to stay at home unless absolutely necessary.

Exactly. There are no wrong choices in this circumstance.

Interesting that reserves get a nominal fee. So not only do Judd and Jack not get their first round prize money because they were forced to withdraw, the reserves actually end up getting more than they would have.

Given the infection rates it’s far from guaranteed that nobody else will test positive.

I wouldn't say it's a wrong choice, it's his choice. Maybe he wants to spend time with family. And with only 16 players in a tournament the chances of someone testing positive were very slim. It happened though.
