What do you plan to spend the money on?
Bravo
You play at his club don’t you, Baddie? Sounds like one of those “I guarantee I’ll find it for £200” situations. Snooker clubs have never been known for being a hotbed of model law-abiding citizens.

Unless I’ve got my maths wrong, Ding is on a max.

maybe it was a finders fee?
I mean maybe Mark had to pay for the cue to be delivered back to him.

Still seems a liberty if you are paying the bloke who stole it. Was it definitely the same person he paid?
Maybe he just deemed that it would be easier to pay for it and get it back, then "getting the lads involved" and risk losing/breaking an important instrument for his career.
You'd still be pretty snake hissed though.

Sounds like someone kidnapped his cue and Mark had to pay a ransom to get it back.

Liam Neeson would have handled it differently

Yeah, but Mark Davis doesn't have the specific skills that will help in finding his cue.
Unless you count being able to afford it as a special skill.
