Yes, and Ryan Day would be heading for Q School...

Would this be the first year where qualifiers saw at least 2 of the 3 class of 92 as quite a favourable draw? Can only see a couple of seeds you'd prefer to draw ahead of Higgins and Williams on current/this seasons form.

I can see your argument, but I'm fairly sure no one would want to draw Higgins. He's been in the last four finals, and it isn't as if he had a good general season last year either. That said the change in atmosphere this year may well throw off the usual Crucible specialists.

I’d say Ronnie’s an easier draw than Higgins right now, personally.

At the WC, for sure. Anywhere else, maybe not. But maybe "this year" will be different...

Really? I still think Ronnie is one of the hardest draws and tougher than Higgins.

In one session matches, Ronnie rules; in multi-session, I think most players would prefer him over Higgins these days.

Well, Higgins has reached the last three finals whereas Ronnie’s record has been poor.
Ronnie’s form has been better than Higgins over the season but he’s been poor since January and form doesn’t really carry into the WC especially with Ronnie recently.

I think how the qualifying for the World Championship goes will be the blueprint for tournaments going forward in the present situation. Certainly think that going forward there is going to be windows or legs for different tournaments to be held much closer together e.g. holding the tournaments held in China and the Six reds over a four week period rather than making visits in August, September, November and then April.
In terms of structure, I wouldn't be surprised if significant changes to qualifying structures for tournaments had to be made over the next few years.
The PDC darts circuit has a significant calendar of events but doesn't have many qualifying tournaments (though they do have significant number of standard pro tour events which snooker presently doesn't have.)
That said I think it will be a maximum of 32 player fields for events for a while to come whilst the present circumstances pass

The PDC Darts structure was what I was expecting Snooker to have ten years ago.

I agree it would be better to do things like that. But the tournament structure is unfortunately fixed by the ranking system and the capacity of the venues. No change.
