What a match. Doherty coming back from a seemingly hopeless position. Williams title that year but Doherty' tournament.

It was a great match. Such a shame Paul couldn't hold his nerve. That 27th frame was a huge turning point. Take nothing away from Ken Doherty though it was a great comeback.

I didn't like the match that much. I wasn't supporting either player/I hadn't had a bet on either player so I didn't care who won. Hunter played very well in the first 3 sessions but then collapsed in the final session. Doherty showed his usual resilience but it was mainly Hunter's failing that I remember.

If Doherty had go on and beaten 'The Welsh Chav' I would have liked it better but because he lost the final it doesn't resonate much with me.

I actually found the quarter final with John Higgins more interesting. Doherty was 10-0 up and then Higgins almost closed to 8-10.

Ronnie made a maximum break that year in 1st round against Fu but lost 10-6 (Think that was the score)
