So that was the Snooker Decade 2010s

Postby PLtheRef

With the 2010s drawing to a close, it sees the end of a decade where the sport is so very different to the one which entered the decade some ten years ago.

With that in mind what are your?

Match of the Decade?

Season of the Decade?

Performance of the Decade?

Tournament of the Decade?

World Championship of the Decade?

Surprise / Shock of the Decade?

Break of the Decade?

Innovation of the decade?

If there is sufficient interest we'll run a poll to find out what SI believe are the definitive moments of the past ten years

Taom chalk.

Of course. Good call.

Not sure. Gary Wilson’s ponytail’s quite innovative.

I'd put that under surprise/shock of the decade.

Yes, I was thinking about that one as well.

My initial thoughts below, but I will spend more time considering and update if anything different comes to mind: (first one serious, rest not so serious)

Match of the Decade?
Robbo v Trump in the 2019 CoC - Robbo needing snookers to force a decider on a respotted black after Judd won previous frame needing snookers. 3 centuries from Judd, 5 from Robbo, lead changing constantly, both players playing their absolute best, epic stuff.

Season of the Decade?
2013/2014 season when Robbo got 103 centuries

Performance of the Decade?
Robbo coming back from 4-8 to win 9-8 against Cao Yupeng in the 2017 Scottish final

Tournament of the Decade?
2019 TC even though Robbo lost to Ronnie in the final, loved it, best players, all great matches.

World Championship of the Decade?
2010 when Robbo won

Surprise / Shock of the Decade?
Robbo not breaking the Crucible curse in 2011

Break of the Decade?
Robbo 147 in Welsh Open 2019

Innovation of the decade?
Peacock Mode
