John Higgins gets drunks in Belfast

Postby SnookerFan

Snooker legend John Higgins has been accused of being involved in an ugly incident in Belfast, after allegedly hurling abuse at a taxi driver following an alcohol-fuelled night on the tiles.

Higgins, 44, was pictured by taxi driver James Crawford falling asleep in the back of his cab, after arriving at his destination in the aftermath of an evening out following the Northern Ireland Open.

Crawford told the Daily Record of the incident, during which he claimed Higgins reacted angrily to being woken and plainly refused to pay the five pounds charge.

Granted that's the cabbies side of the story, but it's not the first time Higgins' getting drunk has caused problems. I hope he finds the cabbie and at least pays the money owed.

I've done stupid stuff drunk in my life, so it's a bit pot calling the kettle black here. But it's hard to defend a millionaire running off on a £5 bill.
