Broadening the game

Postby Eirebilly

Hi all;

As i live in Holland, i am amazed that the WSPBA dont invest in a tournement here. Several years ago the Darts organisation thought "there is an untapped market in Holland so why dont we go there" and history tells us that it was a success.

Australia, Holland and Hong Kong to name but a few a ripe for the pickings and will definately draw crowds.

My question is, where is the market reasearch and development that Should be happening?

Is there much of a scene over in Holland eirebilly?

I don't think I've ever heard of a Dutch snooker player. I'm guessing it's all pool over there? Maybe John Higgins should bring his World Series to Amsterdam / Rotterdam at some point and test the water.

Hi Sonny;

There is not much of a scene at the moment but (like darts) it is there to be capitilised on. Darts wasnt big here until the PDO invested money and advertised here. The Dutch are always crying out for something new and there are some very handy players here. Given the promotion and spotlight, we could see a very good Dutch player soon.
