Saturday 20th of April~Monday 6th of May at The Crucible Theatre, Sheffield

It's Easter day and the 2nd day of this long marathon, with defending champion Mark Williams safely through the 2nd round but not after his opponent staged a mini-comeback from 9-4 down to 9-7, only to lose there.

Today Ding Junhui will try to convert his 6-3 lead into a win, and in action will be 4 time World Champion and last 2 times runner-up here John Higgins, up against an old rival in Mark Davis who actually leads their h2h. Luca Brecel has a narrow 5-4 lead, and 2005 World Champ Shaun Murphy will be up against up and coming rising star Lou Honghao, in his Crucible debut.

In the evening, Robertson only needs 1 more frame for victory, and complete a whitewash only John Parrot in 1992 against Eddie Charlton has been able to achieve, and if Georgiou doesn't score more than 85 points he'll have another bad record to his name, the lowest in a match here since Danny Fowler lost to Stephen Hendry 10-1 in 1993. Also in this evening session Stephen Maguire is once again in trouble after being 5-4 down from 4-2 up, something he's used to in first round matches here.

Promisses to be another hectic day of great snooker.

Georgiou got exactly what he deserved yesterday. Nothing. Likely we'll see the second ever whitewash now. Dont think it is particularly helpful to Robertson's match sharpness or honing his competitive edge though having such an easy match.

He should definitely have won a couple of frames yesterday but made mistakes he would never normally make. Once it hit 4-0 all he was thinking about was the whitewash IMO which messed him up.

Agree, but think it was before 4-0 though, a shame really, he seems a really nice bloke and wanted him to do better, he did good to get there in the first place.

Gotta feel for Georgiou...crucible debut plus Robbo's form were just too much. These long matches can quickly become very short. He's clearly a decent player but will have to wait for other opportunities.
I need Mags and Gary Wilson to get flying :plane:
