He lost 4-0 before the match even started?

Looking at the bottom half of the draw it's very open, Shaun Murphy is the big name there its a great chance for him to get back on track. It's also a golden opportunity for sijun and un nooh to do well although there's a chance they will meet in round 3

He must've spent £100, he's leading 2-1.

a 147 only wins you one frame. Also, it must make it hard to concentrate afterwards. How often must this happen! I'd like to know the stats on this.

Of 149* official maximums:
111 came in victories (75%)
37 in defeats (25%)
and one in a draw (0%)
*I discounted Higgins's in the Nations Cup as it was a team event.

Interesting stat. that.
I would have guessed at more prevalent in victories but perhaps higher than 75%

But really when you think about it:
all the players have won at least one frame in the match -a bit like saying in football it is an advantage scoring first -yes that is because you have an extra goal and have taken a lead
The majority of 147s are made by better players
It gives you a huge pyschological advantage while having a deflating effect on your opponent
It suggests you are playing well and cueing well.
While it is true it only wins you one frame all those other factors come into play also.
