I'm surprised Selbo got beat by Gilbert. He's been going downhill in the past year.
IMO it's about age. Selbo is not among the most naturally gifted players, so as he ages he'll decline faster than others. I don't think he'll be anywhere near Ronnie's level at the age of 43.

Selby had his best ever season in 2016-17. Even though he's won three ranking events since then, I don't think he's been the same player.
