Game stuck rule

In case a stalemate happens and the players don't agree to have a rerack, the referee gives the players 3 shots each to resolve the situation.

If it continues, then the referee has the right to restart the frame regardless if the players agree or not.

And often one of the players doesn’t want one because he has a sizeable lead.

I remember in the 2014 World final Ronnie had a 30 point lead in a game that was looking like a re-rack. Selby asked him and he said no. Then Ronnie played a safety shot and went in-off, and Selby cleared up. Gutted!
