Just wondering how common this is, I saw in the rules for the Lance Parnell Classic in Melbourne, Australia that part of the tournament rules is a requirement for losing players to either referee 'the next scheduled match' or pay a fee. Is this normal and how frequent is it (mayybe it occurs a lot but as a non-player I've not noticed)
(The Lance Parnell takes place the weekend before the Australian Goldfields Pro Tour event starts on the Monday and has a 3000 Aussie dollar 1st prize)

I like this idea. The thought of Judd refereeing Rory versus Mags makes me smile. Any other matches that spring to mind?

Never heard of this either, completely agree with the above post. Imagine Judd having to ref after his meltdown!

I would assume that this particular tournament was low on money, and couldn't afford to pay referees. So either asked the loser to do it, or took money off a losing player who refused.
Though, that's a guess.

I would pay money to watch Poomjaeng ref a match.

He's annoying enough when watching him play.
