its silly because it means some high quality games won't be televised

So much better when there are no 60-70 amateurs, 18 tables and 1000 best of 7 matches in a day. Really looking forward to this!

Probably because it's 12 sessions of snooker over seven days. Before they got the racing all the ITV events (taking out the Shootout) were played over six days with a rest day in between.
12 into seven would mean two days where there's no afternoon play. Saturday is one for the racing, probably makes sense for the other to be at the start

Any chance of this thread being updated to the Hot Topics section? It gets underway in less than an hour @Mods

More chance of a UFO sighting than seeing a mod on here these days.

Nice to hear Foulds and Hendry slamming O'Sullivan.
I'd love to see him run into a bit of form in the run up to the Worlds, but he has been very poor this season, barring a few performances. The UK was probably his most consistent run of decent form, I think.

And that the defending champ is not here to defend his title is weird. Defending champ of every tournament should be a fix part.

Good thing Liang Wenbo is a choker though. Perfect in the balls and messes up like a clown. Excellent clearance from Ronnie.
