When his career's finished Dott will be best remembered for standing around in a field with cows.

Was I drunk when that happened?

Did it happen to be his field? :-)

It was a well known feature the BBC did with him years ago. I can't find it on YouTube, but check out the blog entry below. There's a picture of it on there!

Blimey Mark Davis 5-0 Yan Bingtao. Wasn't expecting that.

Looks like Mark Williams is going 4-3 up on Zhao Xintong.

Looking forward to watching Ronnie later this evening.

His opponent, Cahill, is the one who said recently he'll quit snooker if results continue not to go his way. Expect a smooth win for Ron.

Watching a bit of Bingham v wattana, 4-4 how is Bingham still no2? He's hasn't done a lot since that WC win

The joys of Barry Hearn's money rankings.

Dave Wilson -- uncle to snooker player Kyren Wilson -- has said the prospect of returning to China could be the catalyst his nephew needs to rediscover his form.

The Kettering sharpshooter has struggled since making it to the quarter-finals of the Northern Ireland Open in November. He won't be at the next week's German Masters after blowing a 4-0 lead in against unheralded John Astley in qualifying, and he struggled to get going on his Masters debut against Ding Junhui earlier this month.

But while he wasn't at his best in eliminating Michael Georgiou in their China Open qualifier in Preston today, his uncle told BBC Radio Lancashire it'll be a different story once the tournament gets to Beijing.

"Kyren's always flourished playing abroad," Mr Wilson said. "I know he's gutted he didn't qualify for Berlin, because the Tempodrom is a cracking venue. But he's feeling good, and he told me after beating Michael [Georgiou] he's already looking forward to China.

"He made the quarter-finals last year, and of course the biggest win of his career was in Shanghai. Some players don't like travelling, but, as seafaring people, us Wilsons take it in our stride.

"I think that's why he always plays so well out foreign."

Yeah, his end-of-season ranking could even drop him outside the Top 16!
But, there are a load of tournaments coming up.

In-fact, looking at the snooker calendar, there's not a SINGLE DAY between 1st February - 12 March where there's not some professional snooker being played!

There's actually one day when two tournaments 'overlap'! (23rd February - when a Championship League group is being played at the same time as Snooker Shoot-Out begins)

After that hectic schedule, there's a break for a fortnight before the China Open. Then a few days later (just enough time to travel back to the UK) it's the World Championship! Qualifying followed by the main event!

Thanks for the info, so with the way the money list works selby will be number 1 til he retires haha. To be fair he is consistent!

Re: China Open Last 128 !!!!

Selby deserves to be WN1 for ages because he's been the most consistent player over the last 4 or 5 years. You rarely see him lose before the Quarter-Finals these days...

Bingham on the other hand has been WN2 since his 2015 WC win, despite having very poor results since... His ranking will finally take care of itself and he'll have a massive drop at the end of the season. Unless he were to start win a tournament or 2 before the Wordls, which seems unlikely.

Cahill won the opening frame but Ronnie has quickly leveled at 1-1.

Can't watch the match live... will have to watch it when it's up on YT later in the evening.

2-2 Ronnie should be 3-1 up but missed a black off the spot.

Edit: Has Robertson decided to skip this one?

Re: China Open Last 128 !!!!

Thought this would be easier for Ronnie but he should win really, it can be easy if he wins 5-2 of course.

I doubt he will throw this one away, unless he doesnt want to go to China... But he wouldn't have entered in the first place.
