"Betfred.com World Champion John Higgins will appear on Celebrity Mastermind at 8pm on BBC1 tonight (Thursday).
The Wizard of Wishaw will sit in the famous black chair to answer questions about American soap opera Dallas.
Singer Beverley Knight, politician Michael Howard and weatherman Alex Deakin will be the other contestants in the quiz, with John Humphrys posing the questions.
No doubt those familiar with Scottish vernacular will be wondering: will Higgins be gallus on Dallas?"
I thought his subject might have been Celtic, but Dallas is certainly a surprise. This will defiantly be worth watching, snooker players have been really getting out there over the last couple of months, all good for the exposure of the sport.

I believe his "concern" for snooker (the massive world series) is purely a selfish one. Nice to see him "big up" Hearn.....
My opinion.

Well I think Higgins is a top bloke and fair play to him for the World Series and if he makes a tidy sum out of it then good.

Oh well, he beat a previous potential Prime Minister - absolutely no shame in that even if his specialist subject was Dallas

Well, the boy was joint 3rd on 17pts with Howard. The weathermen (ah, that's where they are) come second on 25pts & the only Lady on the show won with 29pts.

Potential prime minister
I reckon if Higgins stood for PM he'd get more votes than Dracula.

Well Howard was leader of the opposition at a time of general election so he was a very possible candidate to lead this country at one point.

This whole show is a sham......the general knowledge questions are a piece of snake hiss!!!! On proper mastermind you'd struggle to get 5-6 right, on this dumded down version, if you dont get at least 10 in the second round per contestant you're either stoopid or a woman

This kind of attitude always gets me. I'm not gay myself, but I'd suspect that being gay is down to your taste in sleeping with people of the same gender, not in your taste in television.
And back to Higgins, his general knowledge wasn't great.

I read the Telegraph interview and watched the short film and i was astonished at how bad Alex looked.
He looks like,And i dont wish to be nasty as i am a fan,Like gollum looking for his precious.
I prefer to Remember Alex as he was in his pomp,Anything i see hearabout hom nowadays makes me feel sad to see him in this predicament.
Im afraid Alex's plight is a cautionary tale to all of us.
Dont alienate too many people in life or this is what happens.
A crying shame in my humble opinion to see a once great man like Alex looking like he is at deaths door and is talking rubbish.,I hope to see no more rubbish like this .
