Without being disrespectfull in Round 2 is when the tournament comes to life with 2 Rounds to go on a quest for the Crucible.

Ding Junhui hopes is very much alive with Ross Muir, Gary Wilson or 1995 Runner up Nigel Bond in his path and Ali Carter needs to deal with Cao Yupeng, Oliver Lines and Dominic Dale if hes going to make his 14th straight Crucible appearance after his debut in 2003 against the late Paul Hunter.

And what happened with that Paul Davison? Barring snookers he is 3-1 over Un-Nooh with some big breaks.

Surprised to see Jack Lisowski about to go 6-1 up on Rory, thought he would het dragged down by him. Hat's off to Jack for getting in a good position for a quick win.

Sam Baird also 5-1 up on Tom Ford would like to see him reach the crucible.

Another eye-catching score is Graeme Dott's 7-2 lead against Saengkham!

Ken also in a great position at 6-2.

yes, he suffers from exhaustion due to the travelling he had to do the last months. He got some kind of panic attack/hyperventilation issue when he was on a plane. He went to see the doctor who said it would be best for him to rest for a couple of weeks. Hard to do so obviously with the WC Qualies around. Luca himself said he has no pressure now, expecting to lose and already satisfied with the season he had.

Still, I would like to see him qualify, but not holding out much hope.

And now 8-7. Noppon Saengkham shows signs of class here.

Meanwhile, Kurt Maflin has taken a 8-7 lead over Zao Xintong, who was leading 7-4 after the first two frames of the session.

Ian Burns, Kurt Maflin and Jimmy Robertson have booked their third round spots.

Graemme Dott and Robert Milkins looked poised to do so very soon.

He looks in good form and could be a tricky match for Ding in the deciding qualifying round.

Dott will be easy pickings for any of the seeds (even Bingham) if he somehow manages to qualify.

Dott has taken full control of frame 18 after an easy long red and a very good snooker behind the brown which forced Noppon to make two fouls and leave him an easy red to start a break.

edit: Missed position while he's only 50-7 in front with 67 remaining (with two reds on the cushion, though).

At last, Dott and Milkins both finish the job with 10-8. The milkman made an impressive ton to clinch the victory.

Congrats to both Saengkham and Donaldson though, they gave their experienced opponents a good match.

Wakelin has always impressed me and it will be great if he can qualify

Donaldson is a far better player than his results of late winning just 1 match in Main Ranking events this season prior to this week.

But his PTC Results has kept him on tour for another 2 years.

I like Donaldson but like Walker he just isn't getting anywhere within the game

I was hugely impressed by Saengkham. Far better than his ranking suggests.
