Betway U K Championship Last 64!!!!

Tuesday 24th of November~Sunday 6th of December at the Barbican Center in York.

With the first round of this United Kingdom Championship now negotiated, we are down to the Last 64 stage, and this is where TV coverage begins, brought to us by the BBC and Eurosport.

Few shock results have been registred, but one notable big scalp was 2 time UK Champion, Ding Junhui, who once again loses early in a ranking event and his poor run of form goes on. This time, he fell at the hands of amateur Adam Duffy, who recorded a surprising easy win, 6-2.

So we have current World Champion, Stuart Bingham, last tournament (CoC) runner-up Mark Allen, Judd Trump, twice winner of this event, Mark Williams, current Shanghai Masters Champion, Kyren Wilson, current Masters Champion, Shaun Murphy, recent winner of CoC, Neil Robertson, Mark Selby and of course the player in form, already twice ranking event winner this season, John Higgins, all of them trying to go one step closer to a UK Champs title.

Still in the draw is also Sydney Wilson, who recorded a surprising win over welshman Michael White, and also Barry Hawkins, who can say has dodged a bullet by recovering from 3-1 down in his match against Andy Hicks and by winning a final frame decider on the last black.

Who shall win their respective matches and move to the Last 32 stage?

My wish for McGill vs Brecel to be televised wasn't heeded.

Tomorrow's matches are not very tasty, except for Zhou vs Murphy. I am sure that the youngster will give smurph a good match.

Yu vs Fu and MJW vs Ford also will be interesting.

I agree, the TV matches aren't that great for me to be honest.

The only ones I can see being fairly good are Robbo's and Mags matches.

I doubt the chinese player will give Murphy a good game, this is Best of 11 match after all.

let's be honest, it would never be on TV that one, as much as we would love it.

No, it probably wouldn't.

McGill did shoot to fame during The Crucible, but they tend to put the bigger name/higher ranked player on when there's a choice.

Won't be long before they are picking McGill though. :hatoff:

Is Oli capable to repeat last year's epic win?

Not a chance, they have played before since then and Selby won, and here won't be any diferent.

I would love if Ollie won it though :-D

But Ants needs desperately a good run in this tournament, because his start in the season wasn't good.

Although I like Luca's style, I will follow McGill in this match.

McGill reached reached the Quarter-Finals here last year, only to lose to Ronnie 6-4.

He has good memories of this, so it can inspire him.

But I hope Luca wins this match.

Higgins v Pengfei should be good

Puzzled by kyren only being 4/9 v Dunn should be 1/4 minimum.

TV matches are a bit rubbish to be honest.

They tend to pick the more famous players to televise, rather than which match they think will be the best. They're thinking about viewers more than anything else.

If this was last weekend, there'd be no snooker on.

Talking about Twitter hammers, Roland posted this;

roland ‏@snookeroland Looks like toilet breaks could be the topic of the day. Surely it's a basic human right. Who else has rules about when you can and can't go?

Has there been some new toilet break ruling?
