Allen survived on the 5th frame when Dunn had chance to make it 4-1 and he won with a big break on the decider.
Faces Williams in the semi, good match.

Got into watching a film. Should've watched Williams vs Smurph.
Was it a good match?

Not looking so healthy for Ding Junhui now, however!
He needs Judd Trump to win the tournament, or he won't be at the Champion of Champions!

It's a silly state of affairs that Ding doesn't know whether he's playing on Friday or not.

I don't think Ding really deserved a CoC/Successful Guys place with that one Asian Tour win.
Great lineup here. Allen and Williams would both be a good addition to the CoC, and for some time before the surprise winners it looked like MJW would qualify with his seniors win. I like Day too, but I would rather see him win a full ranker than this.

Judd Trump 1-4 Sam Baird
Disappointing exit for Judd Trump, but an absolute disaster for Ding Junhui! Ding will not be at the Champion of Champions!

I get the feeling Ding probably won't care all that much.

Good point. And I agree that Ding won't care so much for CoC, especially after his dramatic drop on the ranking.
As for the current event, maybe is Sam Baird's purple patch?

Remind me of the name of this referee?
I'd drink her bathwater if she asked me to.

Beside the CoC participation, by winning this PTC Day will boost his chances to enter the top 16 again.

Yeah I too want Day to win this, would be his first pro title and he deserves one, one of the best ever players never to have won a ranking event.
But if Allen wins it I'll be happy the same way, and Day will have to play his very best because Allen is in superb form.
