The first IBSF Under 18 world championship is being held in Russia. No English and Chinese unfortunately, but there are Welsh and Hong Kong players who all have a chance to win it. There is also Rodion Judin (tipped a future world champion by Ronnie, his former practice partner) and Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan, winner of the under 21 billiards a week ago.
Group stages now over, knockout starts tomorrow.

Last two Russians lost in the last 32. In the last 16 Rodion Judin whitewashed Abdelrahman Shahin, who made a 109 in his previous match, highest so far. Also through to the quarters are all 3 Hong Kong players, 2 Welsh, Shrikrishna and Pakistan's Abdul Raheem. Quarters on now with two tables streamed.

Ka Wai Cheung wins 5-2 to become the first IBSF Under 18 champion
Yana Shut wins the girls' event, beating Anastasija Singurindi 3-0. She also had the highest break... a 34.
