So the first tournament with a Pro Tour card for 2016/17 and 2017/18 at stake!

British Isles entries

EBSA entry - Louis Heathcote (England)
England - Ashley Carty, Luke Garland, Joe O'Connor, Brandon Sergeant
Ireland - Josh Boileau (2014 runner-up), Stephen Bateman, Shane Bates, Adam Fitzgerald, Aaron Moyles
Scotland - Dylan Craig, Lee Mein, Chris Totten
Wales - Jamie Clarke, Callum Lloyd, Tom Rees, Tyler Rees

Some other interesting entries

Australia - Arthur Lin, Ryan Thomerson
Austria - Dominik Scherübl. Florian Nüssle
China - Wáng Yŭchén , Zhào Xīntóng
Germany - Lukas Kleckers, Simon Lichtenberg
Hong Kong Tam Yun Fung
India - Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan
Iran - Siyavosh Mozayani, Alireza Rezaei
Israel - Shachar Ruberg, Maor Shalom
Latvia - Rodion Judin
Lithuania - Vilius Schulte
Malta - Brian Cini, Chris Peplow
Poland - Mateusz Baranowski, Kacper Filipiak, Kamil Zubrzycki
Sweden - Benjamin McCabe
Thailand - Boonyarit Keattikun, Ratchayothin Yotharuck

Inevitably Ukraine has entered 9 year old 'wunderkind' Iulian Boiko, and I think this is the first international competition for young Polish hope Antoni Kowalski (aged 11)

Thin Ladies competition, inevitably no British isles entries - Yana Shut of Belarus and Thailand's Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan and Nutcharat Wongharuthai likely the favourites. Interesting that India has entered 4 players, not names I recognise but probably my ignorance!

Yeah, not bad, and he's won a frame today against Shane Bates. He has too Romanians in his group so he might even win a match.
And the biggest surprise of the day was from South Korean Daegyu Lee, who beat China's Wang Yuchen 4-2. Good day for the Koreans, they hardly ever win a match, but their female player won her first match too.

Down to the last 16 now.
Daegyu Lee's great run has ended. He won 5 of his 6 group matches, finishing second in his group (behind Wang Yuchen who he beat). Then he ground out his last 64 match, beating Shane Bates 4-3 from 3-1 down. I think that match finished after midnight local time, then he had to play the last 32 at 10 am, lost 5-0 to Brian Cini.
Some good matches, former pros Filipiak and Ursenbacher play each other. Lots of Brits and Zhao Xintong are also still in.

Kacper left from mainland Europe, he beat Ursenbacher 5-4 from 4-1 down. His next opponent is Josh Boileau, losing finalist here last year.
Zhao plays Boonyarit Keattikun, who also made a comeback against Aussie Ryan Thomerson from 3-0.
European Championship finalist Jamie Clarke plays Dylan Craig, Ashley Carty has Wang Yuchen.

Only saw the last 3 frames and a bit, looked like a good match. Keattikun was 7-4 up, then soon it was a decider, which he won with the help of a break of 53.
Last time at the Asian U21, Zhao Xintong also lost to a Thai who then went on to win that, I thought there was a chance that pattern could continue :-D
Also, Ryan Thomerson once again gets close to beating the eventual champion, last year he got the closest to Vafaei, this year him and Clarke got the closest to Keattikun.
