As suggested by SnookerFan this thread is the sequel to "Ken Doherty Watch"
Mark Davis beat Ken Doherty 10-3. Who will he draw in Sheffield?

You know something, he does look like a swimming instructor! It's about time these 'watch' threads churned out something interesting.

I'm not sure I'd want to learn to swim off of Mark Davis, somehow. I dunno why. I just don't look at him and think; "Yup, I'd be comfortable seeing him in his swimming trunks...."
No disrespect.

Ye gods. Now I've pictured Shaun Murphy in swimming shorts.
As a general rule, snooker players should stay as dressed as possible.
Also, Graeme Dott looks like a nervous dentist.

While we're on the subject:
Mark King looks like a music teacher.
Barry Hawkins looks like a nervy dentist.
and Ryan Day looks like a sun-tan seller.

Mark was the singer/bassist in Level 42.
Ian McCulloch was singer in Echo and the Bunnymen
Then there's Robbie Williams
Darryl Hill is only one change of vowel away himself.

Mark King looks like my brother. Same cueing stance, too. Bit freaky that.
Barry Hawkins looks like the missing link.
Ryan Day looks like Welsh Deliverance.

Thanks for the update.
MCD stayed at the Novotel one year and I got a nice photo with him and I told him how much he looked like a swim instructor. Apparently he is told the same wherever he goes.

I once got talking to Rob Walker in a hotel bar in Telford. He was a nice man. He was having dinner, and asked for the football to be put on the screen. I had a nice chat with him. I have a feeling we were discussing Neil Robertson, amongst other things.

So the second session of Mavis vs Ding is about it start Mark is leading 4-3 though since he lead 4-0 he is probably a little disappointed.
I know this is a Mark Davis thread but to me the match was all about how Ding was playing, abysmal and oddly disinterested in part one and much better in part two.
Which Ding will come out to play today?
Can they complete the match this morning or will they be back after hours tonight?
Will this thread continue?

Rob Walker calling Mark the Battler from Hastings
I see what he's done there, but the English lost the Battle of Hastings
Ding is Chinese not French but even so not sure it bodes well.

Now, see, what you've done there is conflate correlation and causation. Very common in sport, hence the high incidence of OCD in sportpersons.
I say pish posh to superstitious flapdoodle. Ding watch all you like; it won't hurt his chances.
