This thread will show the route for selected qualifiers to get to the Crucible.
I will add my initial selection once the qualifying draw is published.
Feel free to add others.

Wildcards should be seeded by career earnings as a percentage of prize money available during their career.

Ever popular Chinese sensation Zhanger's route:
R1 vs Anthony Hamilton (the Sherrif of Pottingham, not had a good time of it lately)
ADC's Verdict: This R1 match is a pretty even battle - close fought, likely to be 10-7, 10-8 either way.
R2 vs Mark Joyce / Ian Burns
ADC's Verdict: If Zhanger progresses (and he is a long course specialist), then I fancy him to win this R2 match in some style. Likely result 10-5.
R3 vs Zhou Yoelong / Zak Surety / Liang Wenbo / Chris Norbury
ADC's Verdict: I expect Wenny to progress to this R3 encounter with Zhanger, and then we have a mouth-watering Chinese battle for the Crucible spot. Zhanger to win 10-8, in a high quality match.

If he has the audacity to win any of those earlier matches, Zhang will be destroyed by Liang in R3.

Jimmy White has a very slim chance IMVHPO.
R1 vs James Wattana.
ADC's Verdict: Toss of a coin, both well past their best, the match is likely to be littered with errors.
R2 vs Matt Selt / Lyu Chenwei
ADC's Verdict: Likely that the much improved Selt will progress to R2 and beat either White or Wattana with something to spare.
R3 vs Tom Ford / Andrew Norman / David Gilbert / Goerge Pragnall
ADC's Verdict: Unless Pragnall progresses which I find extremely unlikely then any one of the others will have too much for White IMVHPO.

Interesting bottom quarter featuring Brecel, Higginson, Milkins.
Milkins should progress to R3 comfortably but who would he face. Brecel has got to start showing some consistency of performance. He is capable of beating Higginson but it is by no means a dead cert, then it would be a R3 battle with Milkins. Very tasty match that one.
ADC's Verdict:
Milkins to qualify.

Do you see the RF qualifying , to me Gilby looks his only threat.

Will there be another draw to decide who the 16 qualifiers play at the Crucible? - or will 'qualifier 1' from today's draw automatically be playing Selby and likewise 'qualifier 16' meeting Ronnie?

Thanks, armchair.
That'll be an interesting draw when it comes around.
I remember a televised draw a few years ago when John Inverdale was presenting and had the then seeded Hendry and unseeded Bingham (I think it was) in the studio for post draw 'reaction'.
Now, Hendy could only draw one of 16 opponents, of whom, Bingham was one.
Any player he drew represented a 1-in-16 chance
.....and indeed, Hendry and Bingham ended-up being drawn together - something Inverdale just couldn't get his head around, proclaiming 'the odds of that happening must be literally millions-to-one'!!!

Doing it on the radio leaves the whole thing open to all kinds of underhand influences, imo.

It should be done on tv for proper transparency and really as it is a BBC tournament they should be the ones taking the lead. No doubt if there is some money to be made out of it then Barry will flog the rights to the draw to whoever and sod the transparency - hence it ends up on Talksport

They've got Andy Goldstein on there who is the biggest Hendry fanboy known to man.
