Tuesday 24th ~ Saturday 28th of March at Montien Riverside Hotel, Bangkok

Player Tour Championship is in its 5th year and has been previously won by Shaun Murphy (2011), Stephen Lee (2012), Ding Junhui (2013) and Barry Hawkins (2014), Neil Robertson is the only player to reach 2 finals (2012 and 2013) losing both times.

This year for the first time it will be played in Bangkok, Thailand having previously been in Ireland for the first 3 years and last year at the Guild Hall in Preston.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is the only member of the top 16 ranked players in the World that will be missing having not done enough this year for a qualifying place.

Oliver Lines and Chris Wakelin are two names you wouldn't expect to see in a prestigious event like this with Oliver in his debut season on tour, but both players deserves to be there Oliver seeded no 18 and Chris Wakelin no 30th.

With a top prize and ranking points of £100,000 awaiting the eventual winner who will reach the last 16 and stay in the hunt for Glory?

Barry Hawkins 1-3 Mark King
Matthew Selt 4-1 Oliver Lines

I Did expect Selt to win hes been playing very well lately but i was expecting a harder match especially after Oli went 1-0 up with a nice break of 48.

PoolBoy wrote:Yeah, slightly disappointing for Ollie Lines, but the £4k won for qualifying for this has moved him to a career high ranking of 76. Unfortunately, he won't be in China, but is still in good nick for the Crucible qualifiers.

He needs to be in the top 80 in the world to be top 64 seed in the qualifiers so he would avoid the likes of Ebdon but ultimately it doesent matter where you are because to Qualify you have to beat 112 players of all standards.

Good start for Chris Wakelin leading Milkins 2-0 if he wins this it will push him up to 69th in the Provisional seeding for the WC.

80th is the cut off to be seeded in the WC qualifiers Draw.

Probably just struggling due to a lack of nutrition. I heard he has 1 hot meal a day - a bowl of steam*

(*apologies to Woody Allen for nicking that joke)
