I won't copy and paste the whole article, but here is his comments;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/snooker/31379049What do people think of these comments? Does he have a point? Will it matter if there are more foreign players than Brits?

He should get his facts straight before opening his mouth. Snooker goes through peaks and troughs in roughly ten year cycles. It's hitting a peak everywhere just now, including the UK. The only thing that will stop youngsters getting involved more is the huge increase in the cost involved. They won't all be lucky enough to have sponsors.

This is a mistake on Judd's part. Silly boy. Unfortunately, despite Oscar Wilde's famous saying there is such a thing as bad publicity. I bet he's in trouble with Barry right now. Still, makes a change from Ronnie being on the naughty step.

It's a fair comment from Judd. Snooker is a monority sport and will lose the bulk of youngsters to Football as with most other sports. The potential rewards are much higher in football and mediocre success is more achievable than snooker.

The harder a game is to learn the less likely you'll get youth of today involved. If there's a cerebral component or something involving patience you're even less likely to see them take interest.
Shame things have gone this way

People must remember that kids have more competition these days.
Snooker had a reputation at one point for attracting kids that were bunking off school. People who were good at snooker were supposed to have a misspent youth. The lucky ones would be good enough to make a career of it.
Nowadays, when kids are goofing off they don't go down their local snooker hall. They go on facebook, or twitter, or play with their phones.
