Crucible provisional seedings

Postby Andre147

So, after the Welsh Open took place, here's how the draw for the biggest event of the season would look like:

Top Half:

Mark Selby (1) / Qualifier
Mark Williams (16) / Qualifier
Stuart Bingham (9) / Qualifier
Shaun Murphy (8) / Qualifier
————————————
Barry Hawkins (5) / Qualifier
John Higgins (12) / Qualifier
Ali Carter (13) / Qualifier
Neil Robertson (4) / Qualifier

Lower Half:

Ding Junhui (3) / Qualifier
Joe Perry (14) / Qualifier
Mark Allen (11) / Qualifier
Judd Trump (6) / Qualifier
————————————
Ricky Walden (7) / Qualifier
Marco Fu (10) / Qualifier
Stephen Maguire (15) / Qualifier
Ronnie O’Sullivan (2) / Qualifier

Obviously the seedings are bound to change with 4 more events carrying ranking money before the Final cut off point, namely next week's Gdynia Open, Indian Open, Players Champs and China Open.

But if the the Worlds started tomorrow, I think the best Last 16 matches would be Selby v MJW, Allen v Trump and Ronnie v Mags. In particular Selby v MJW, I do think that would be a great spectacle, and obviously Allen v Trump.

World Grand Prix doesn't count towards seedings. Plus Gdynia is relatively low money in comparison. But general feeling is the same.

1st and 3rd quarters look brutal, while 2nd and 4th seem a bit less tough.

Yes I forgot WGP doesn't count as it's only 32 players in it. Already edited it.

But yeah I agree, 1st and 3rd quarters the so called "Quarter of death".
