2015 DAFABET MASTERS PREDICTION CONTEST!
This tournament will run from the 11th to the 18th of January, and defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will be trying to win his 6th Masters title and equal Stephen Hendry on that feat. He will have some very tough opposition however, as the likes of Neil Robertson, Ding Junhui, Judd Trump or World Champ Mark Selby just to name a few will all too try to grab this prestigious title.
The format of this contest will be similar to last year’s Masters one, with a little bit more emphasis on the correct scoreline for the Final, and since there have been quite a few 147s in recent times, I reckon this tournament may see another, surprisingly in its vast history it has only had 2, the first made by Kirk Stevens way back in 1984 and the second made by Ding Junhui in 2007.
Points allocation:
A player defeating a player from a below seeding Group: 4 points
A player defeating a player from their own seeding Group: 6 points
A player defeating a player from an above seeding Group: 8 points
Correct Scoreline: 3 points
Correct Scoreline for the Final: 6 points
Furthest advancer from each seeding Group: 3 points each, with an added bonus of 3 points should all 4 be correct.
Nominated player who makes a maximum break: 10 points
(A maximum break is defined as a 147 with 15 reds or a 155 with 15 reds + free ball red)
Seeding Groups are as follows:
Group A: O’Sullivan, Selby, Ding, Robertson;
Group B: Hawkins, Allen, Trump, Bingham;
Group C: Walden, Fu, Murphy, Maguire;
Group D: Carter, Perry, Higgins, Milkins
E.g. O’Sullivan defeats Walden scores 4 points; Perry defeats Ding scores 8 points.
Should two or more players reach the last round for that Group, then the player who scores the most frames in losing (5-6 better than 4-6) counts as the furthest “advancer”, with both players scoring equal points should both be eliminated by the same score e.g. Milkins and Perry losing Semi-Finalists 5-6.
Should entries be tied for the same score the person who predicts correctly the winner of the most matches will be placed higher on the list. Should this still not separate entries then the person with the most correct scorelines will be placed higher.
Please also note that even if you think there won’t be any maximum break made, you won’t receive any “benefit” if there isn’t any, so please name a player to make a maximum.
Good luck to all entrants!
