Welsh Open draw

Postby Andre147

The draw has just been released by World Snooker on their website.

Defending Champ Ronnie will play Vinnie Calabrese, and interesting to note that both Trump and Ronnie are in the same half of the draw so they could very well meet at the Last 16 stage, very early I know.

Quarters, which is sensible as they're both top 8 seeds.

Rory Thor is in the draw!!!

Playing Stuart Bingham isnt a bad way to make your pro debut.

Hopefully he will make it!

Sory you're absolutely right. I did find it a bit strange that they could meet as early as the Last 16 stage. Quarters is Best of 9 so there's room for better mathes instead of just Best of 7.

Will be very interesting how this venue looks like and how it will all pan out with all 128 at the venue.

8 tables last 128 and 64
4 last 32,
2 last 16, QF
1 SF and F.

I count 11 tables for Last 128

Yeah, you are right, but it assuming they would hold three back, as the first round is only Best of 7.

Unless he's also entered the Indian qualifiers which is before the Welsh. Don't think the draw for that has been made yet.
