Early exit for Kurt Dunham in the Last 64 4-2 against Dennis Paul, who then lost 4-0 to Daniel Thorp. Roger Farebrother beat Japan's Shuji Hase in the Last 64 and Paul Thomerson in the Last 32. Others losing out in the Last 32 included Charlie Chafe (4-3 to Nick Vasic), Ryan Thomerson (4-2 to Alan McCarthy) and Robby Foldvari (4-3 to Steven Chau Hon Man.
