World Billiards Championship 20-29 Oct in Leeds

Postby roy142857

World Billiards action getting 'set to go' at Northern Snooker in Leeds, with plenty of 'home nations' players, a clutch of Aussies including Matthew Bolton and a load of players from India including current Indian No. 1 Alok Kumar, Pankaj Advani and Rupesh Shah. No Mike Russell as his ban was upheld (albeit reduced), but English entries include Robert Hall, Phil Mumford and David Causier. Singapore's Peter Gilchrist will as always be one of the favourites. Nice to see up-and-coming young Irish players Wayne and Ross Doyle have entered. Two female entries, Gaye Jones and Emma Bonney.

I was following Pankaj on live scores last night. At one point he was on 1170 and Causier more than 100 behind, then Causier came back and took the lead by a couple of points, Pankaj made 3 or 4 more scoring shots and Causier was at the table on a break of 2 when the bell rang. Cutting it a bit fine Pankaj!

I'm going to watch the final this afternoon and looking forward to it.
