Monday 8th~Sunday 14th of September at the Shanghai Grand Stage, ChinaAfter the shocks aplenty in the first round, we're back to more familiar territory in the quarters. We have defending champion and World Number 3 Ding Junhui, world champion Mark Selby, as well as recent Pual Hunter Classic winner Mark Allen. There are some uncommon faces though, with former Masters Champion Alan McManus continuing his great run, as well as young Michael White and the experienced Fergal O'Brien who's in his first ranking quarter final since the 2007 Northern Irish Trophy.
Will we have a Ding Selby final, like seedings suggest or will there be more surprises in this event?
DRAWQuarter FinalsDing Junhui v Graeme Dott
Ding leads 6-1Stuart Bingham v Alan McManus
Bingham leads 6-1----------------------------------------------------------------Michael White v Mark Allen
White leads 1-0Fergal O'Brien v Mark Selby
O'Brien leads 2-1ORDER OF PLAY

Incidentally, when was Fergal's last Ranking Event QF?
I'll look it up when i get a minute, but i'm guessing 4 or 5 years ago.

He has reached 1 Quarter Final of a ranking event in 12 years before this event and that was the Final of the Northern Ireland Trophy in 2007.

Even longer than i thought!
He's done alright, then, hasn't he? Though you could argue he's benefitted from a kind draw.

With all the seeds that have gone out, almost everyone could be accused of having an easy draw, except maybe Angles.

Two 80 breaks and White closes to 4-3. Why couldn't he do this at the start of the match?

First ball of significance White has missed. Would be gutted if all his efforts were for nothing.
