I have the time for that! Johnson was wearing his lucky shoes, like Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz!
Great memories!

Have watched that match, when it comes to those kind of Classics I'm always there to spend some quality time watching them, just love it
Been recently watching the 1984 UK quarter-final between Higgins and Thorne.

Been recently watching the 1984 UK quarter-final between Higgins and Thorne.
The UK Semi in 1984 had an unsavoury incident. Thorburn had been lending Higgins his extension during the match, Thorburn was snookered on a colour and nominated green, the ref said he never heard him and Higgins didn't accept that Thorburn had said green, so Thorburn said to Higgins "You don't use that again"(referring to the extension.
Going back to the Johnson vs Griffiths match. Johnson was 9-7 up overnight, then fell 9-12 down, and then won the last 4 frames!

The game was so different then. Did you see Terry's attempt to get out a snooker on the first link about 7 mins in? If you done that now you'd be labeled a madman!

That was just a really poor two cushion escape.

Sport is so much more professional these days, which has made it more boring. 1986 was my favourite World Championship. So many more free spirits were playing, and most had personalities. Professionalism has in many ways killed sport from an entertainment sense.
Yes, it was a terrible attempt!

The BBC should hire Joe Johnson as a commentator.

No. ES should take all of the BBC's best ones.

Johnson replaced Dennis Taylor as World Champion in 1986, now he can replace Taylor as a commentator.
