Thursday 10th~Friday 11th of April at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield

Round 2 and Legends Steve Davis and Jimmy White enter and start on a campaign to get to the Crucible for the 31st and 26th time respectively.

Out of the two of them Steve Davis is in grave danger of falling off the main tour and will possibly need to win two matches to stay on tour if other matches goes his way. Can he stop mother nature for another year?

Also starting out in this round is former crucible Semi finalist Alan McManus and 1995 Runner up Nigel Bond.

Who will reach Round 3 and another step nearer the crucible?

Yeah, but even more schocking is how can WS not stream Luca v DeLu? <doh> <doh> That match is a cracker, at least on paper, I guess they'll stream Hang and Pankaj purely because of that chinese thing viewers that watch on live stream, etc...

The others are fine, but that choice :td:

Much though I like Steve, he'll only have himself to blame if he doesn't stay on the tour. He skipped a big tournament to go on ITV jungle shows. He's obviously not as fussed about ranking position any more.

Not blaming the guy if he aint that fussed, he's had a long successful career and it's probably easier for a guy his age to get paid for talking rubbish with John Parrott.

I just think any; "Come on Steve, stay on the tour" chants should be put in perspective.

Yeah, that is a pretty poor match choice.

World Snooker have got to think about viewership as much as anything.

if Steve saves himself this week then kudos for the guy his ambition now is to be on tour at 60 that is how far down his expectations has gone and he will enter Q School if he fails.

Q School this year could have Steve Davis and Tony Drago in it, 2 experience players that young amateurs will have major problems with to get a crack at the big time

Is anyone watching the Nugget match? I wish I could. I bet he's playing his heart out. Interesting point made earlier though about him and Tony possibly denying talented youngsters a place on the tour if they go through Q School. I think it's admirable though that Steve is still doing what he loves.

Steve looks to be going off the tour. The good news is he's confident he can get right back on again with the cue school or the PTC route. I'm sure that's why he decided to go into the jungle, because he thought if he did drop off he could get back on. :-)

Besides, he wanted some time to concentrate on his autobiography. Steve's got it all worked out I'm sure. ;-)

If he really wanted to keep his tour place then he certainly wouldn't have gone into the jungle so this is all part of the plan. <cool>

Problem is Davis is losing to a journeyman pro and Q School could be full of those types of players.

and regarding PTC Steve as a pro finished in 60th spot as a amataur he could have 3 or 4 amataur rounds to over come.

so getting back on could be harder than he and us thought.
