I'm sure they will be like last year and the year before that, which ones though remains a mystery and I don't know if they'll stream the early matches from round 1 onwards.

The World Championship starts here

from 8th of April and start of the championship to the champion being crowned on 5th of may there is no rest bite apart from 14th, 17th and 18th of April.

there's been criticism from some regarding not much gap between qualifiers and the crucible but i believe that's how it should be making every player feel like they are involved in the championship and are playing in the World Championship.

In the past they even knew the full 32 crucible line up in june the previous year.

They never knew the last 32 line up in June the previous but they did know who was seeded to play who in the last 16 as soon as the last ball was potted the previous year.

The earliest the 32 line up was known was for the 1993 World Championships. That was known in September 1992.

I dont mind that the qualifers and finals are so close.

What I do mind is that qualifers wont know who they are facing in the first round until 2 days before the crucible starts.

Ok, its not so much an issue for the players, but it might be difficult for family/friends/fans to get tickets and make necessary arrangements on short notice.

I Think its much better for the Qualifiers

A) they feel part of the biggest event
B) they aren't cold coming in to the event all has had 10 frames minimum match practice.

Luca's match in streamed, very happy with that decision. :-)

Hopefully he has a good run, but he won't have it easy by any means, if he wins his opening he faces Yu Delu who we all know has been playing the snooker of his life recently, and also has Matthew Stevens in last round who despite not playing well recently isn't easy to beat in a match like this.

Luca's problem is he is too casual he needs more intensity in his game.

although hes still young he should be looking to cement his place in the top 64 and get higher now. On the money list he is ranked 64th with the talent he has at 19 that should be higher.

Luca Brecel vs Yu Delu.

That'd be tasty. :D

Chris Norbury takes frame 3 after Kyren had a chance to steal it and first man out of 11 tables at the mid session interval is Barry Pinches (never said that before lol) leading Hammad Miah 4-0

Yes I too often use those 2 words: "too casual", to describe some of Luca's poor performances, despite his young age, he needs to develop a more solid safety game and sometimes don't rush some shots and give them the necessary thinking time they deserve, such as escaping from snookers which sometimes he has a nasty habit of just getting down and play the shot without thinking too much.

A match against DeLu a tasty one no doubt.

Despite having a pro career of 25 years Barry Pinches has only reached the crucible 3 times 1991, 2004 and 2005 his only crucible win was against Jimmy White 10-8 in 2004 before narrowly lost 13-12 to Stephen Hendry. his last match at the crucible was against Ken Doherty in 2005 losing 10-5.

History is against Pinches getting back there.
