Oceania Snooker Championships 2014 29Mar - 6 Apr

Postby roy142857

The 2014 Oceania Snooker Championship will be held in Albury, New South Wales, Australia from 29th March - 6th April.

I understand they are struggling for referees, and have now asked for players who aren't qualified referees to volunteer to help.

Various things available to the tournament winners, in particular it has been confirmed by Oceania Snooker that a two year Pro Tour card will be offered to the winner of the Mens Championship (1 - 6 April).

The Mens Runner Up and the winner of the Womens Championship (2 - 6 April) will be offered places at the IBSF World Championship in Bangalore in November.

The Mens Billiard Championship (29-31 March) winner will be offered a place at the World Billiards Championship in Leeds.

The Mens Under 21 Championship (29-31 March) winner will be offered a place at the World Under 21 Championship in May.

The Mens Six Reds Championship (1-5 April) winner will be offered a place at both the IBSF World Six Reds in Egypt and the Sangsom Six Reds in Thailand in September.

The Womens Six Reds Championship (2-5 April) winner will be offered a place at the IBSF World Six Reds in Egypt.

Strange that players are playing group matches both for the Six Reds and the main championship.

Players who've opened with a couple of wins in the main Championship include Aussies Steve Mifsud, Adrian Ridley, Matthew Bolton, Steven Donohoe, Charlie Chafe, Paul Thomerson and Shaun Dalitz, plus New Zealand's Henry Killian and Fiji's Jitendra Prasad.

Just a handful of matches still to be played in the group stages of both the Six Reds and the main Oceania Championship. Players below are Australian unless otherwise stated.

For the record, players currently unbeaten in the main Championship are - Steve Mifsud, Adrian Ridley, Steven Donohoe, Ben Judge, New Zealand's Henry Killian, Paul Thomerson and Shaun Dalitz. Thomerson and Dalitz are still to play each other. In Group D Hassan Kerde, Rod Hart and Brent Noble each have one loss, and Hart and Noble still have to play each other. Group E is complete, with 3 players having one loss - Peter Hawkes, Ali Ganji and Cale Barrett.

In the Six Reds players unbeaten so far are - Adrian Ridley, Matthew Bolton, Hassan Kerde, James Mifsud, Ben Judge, Subit Abrol, Tony Masci and Papua New Guinea's Djorne Fong.

The two Women's Championships are not quite as far along. Unbeaten players so far in the main Championship are - Jessica Woods, Cindy Tran, Margaret Gorski, Sue Martin and Kathy Howden.
