In the Masters there are 4 groups, with 4 teams from each going through to the Last 16 tomorrow.

No groups completed, but Wales 1 and Ireland 1 are dominating Groups A and C respectively.

In Group A, England have a slender lead over Wales 2, whilst in Group D Belgium 1 are leading, with Ukraine and Ireland 2 tied in second not far behind.

In the Ladies, there are 2 groups. The group winners advance to the semi finals, the 2nds and 3rds play off in 'Last Six' matches.

Not sure how they'll sort out the now completed and very competitive Group B in the Ladies. Every match ended 3-2 with Germany beating Russia 2, Russia 2 beating Belarus and Belarus beating Germany, and a surprisingly competitive Romania 1 team being edged by all 3. So every team on frame difference of +1.

Group A has yet to complete, but defending champions Daria Sirotina and Anastasia Nechaeva (Russia 1) have dominated, and France are through too. Israel need to beat Bulgaria 4-1 or better this afternoon to advance.

In the Mens, 4 teams from each of the six groups advance, with the group winners and best 2 runners up going straight into the Last 16.

Group B is complete, with Israel 1 and Ireland 2 tied in 1st with +17 frame difference - I assume Ireland 2 are the group winners, as they won the match between the two. 3rd and 4th are Finland and Romania 3.

Group C is also complete with Wales 2 the clear winners. Joining them in the knockout competition will be Malta, Germany 1 and Bulgaria.

Ireland 1, Wales 1 and England have respectively dominated groups A, E and F.

Poland 1 and Scotland are close in Group D, the winner of this afternoons match between them will win the Group.

Things really get going in all the competitions tomorrow - the Men play Last 24, Last 16 and quarter finals, the Masters Last 16 and Quarter finals, and the Ladies Last 6 and Semi finals.

Groups E and F in the Mens now complete

Group E qualifiers Wales 1, Belgium 1, Russia 1 and Croatia

Group F certain qualifiers England, Poland 2, Romania 1. As mentioned before, I don't know what the tie-break rule is on same frame difference, but think it is head-to-head. In which case Ukraine 1 would pip France for the 4th spot.

No idea what happened to the Scots this afternoon, got walloped 5-0 by Poland 1 in Group D (Edit - scored just 30 points in the 5 frames)

Ukraine's 8 year old Iulian Boiko had some tight frames in the match against France that appears to have decided the last place in Group F, lost to Ahmed Benraïssi on the black ball, then beat Stephane Ochoiski 78-75 in the frame that decided the match. He also contributed one of the frame wins in their match with Belarus.
