Don't think so, Something tells me that only Hunter and Hendry have made five or more in a best of 19 frame final. If that's the case no-one's lost one yet

Ronnie made five centuries against David Gray at the Crucible and lost 10-9 in 2000

Selby made five also in the quarter-final at the Crucible in 2009 and lost 13-12 to Higgins

I know I'm watching

Yeah, one of the best I've ever watched, truly truly amazing final. :hatoff:

9-8 now to Fu, Ding has to win the next 2 to win it.

Ding is going to win. I'm going to predict a match correctly.

I really hope your prediction will be correct for once!. ;-)

Did you have any greens with that sunday roast? :-D

This was a truly amazing amazing match :hatoff:

Both deserved to win, but in the end Ding was just too strong.

Since 1990 no one had ever won 3 rankers in a row, Hendry last doing it, who else...

Ding really is the man of the season right now, along with Robbo, but at the moment even better than him.

Ding could easily have made 7 tons, equaling Hendry, had those 90 plus breaks become centuries, but doesn0t matter now.

Both made this final legendary, one of the best in recent years, along with that Shanghai Masters one last season.

His main aim this season should be the World Championship.

Yeah he already has 2 Uks, but in this sort of form Jewel he can win the UK and Worlds... :hatoff:

The most difficult thing for him really is maintain this sort of form. Hendry did it like no one else in the 90s, Ding too is a player capable of dominating, but there are a lot of players out there hungry for titles so is won't be easy.

Bit Like Higgins in fact, both have similar styles nowadays, although Higgins far from his best now.

 Very, verrrrrry well done Ding!.

I,ve said it all along,if you,re good, consistent enough, you can play consistent high standard snooker, then it,s for sure possible to reach the latter parts of tournaments and even win them on a regular basis theeeeeeese dayyyyyyyyyyyyyys!.

Ding certainly deserved to win, played high standard snooker, played very well all week.

What Ding has to do now is,is to keep his foot on the pedal,(and yes,i know it,s easier said than done),but this is a great chance for Ding to start puttin a fear factor into the other players and pull away from the crop,he,s in a league of his own at the moment,it,ll be intresting to see if he can keep this great form, consistency going.

If he can keep it going,he could really be the next dominating force,it,s high time someone started.

Some players have dominated the game in recent years but only in short spells, names like Ronnie, Higgins, Selby, Robbo and now Ding to name the ones that stand out the most.

The most difficult thing to do as I said is to keep it going like Hendry or Davis did in their prime. I think Ding definately needs a break now, he said it himself in his post match interview after his semi he would be very very tired after this final, and so it proved after a dramatic and tiring 10-9 victory.

He should for me skip the next couple of PTC events and focus on the CoC one.

Snooker Overdrive wrote:Great achievement for Ding but I learned from my years of watching this game that every time someone looked like dominating another player came along and ended that spell of domination. Selby, Trump are recent examples.

Yeah you're right SO, last season Selby won a PTC, then UK, then Masters titles and everyone thought he would dominate but in latter part of the season apart from China Open didn't do much else.

It'll be interesting to see if Ding can dominate, for now like I said earlier he needs a break to be fresh for the next Majors tournaments ahead.
