Scotland have withdrawn their men's team of Robert Carlisle and Ross Valance , Scotland have also replaced Barry Campbell in the masters event with Alex Coutts.
Poland's Małgorzata Sikorska seems to be entered in 4 events the masters and mens team events and also in the men's and ladies 6 reds :? Obviously she can only play in the ladies events and also she can play in the masters as there is no sex description for the masters event, I would also say that she can only play in 1 team event as the team events will run simultaneously. Małgorzata will have to decide which team event she wants to play in whether it be the masters or ladies.

I seem to recall she played in both at the European Team Championship, maybe it was easier to schedule for that?

She only played it the ladies @ the European Team Championships. The schedule at any championships would not be able to accommodate for anyone playing 2 categories.

Good start by Gaz, won his first 2 group matches comfortably, likewise Jeff Cundy who is in the same group. Matt Lee had a more disappointing start, lost 4-2 to George O'Hara of Ireland. Most players only played 1 match so far (a few yet to play), but three other players with 2 wins from 2 are Alex Taubman (Wales), Poland's Adam Stefanów and Muhammad Asif of Pakistan.

A couple of highlights from the first day of action were 3-2 victories from 2 frames down by Alain Vandersteen of Belgium in the Mens event and by Hong Kong's Jaique Ip Wan In in the Womens event. Report on the first day from IBSF here:

Wales' Duane Jones, Darren Morgan, Alex Taubman and Gavin Lewis have all opened with 2 wins from 2, as have Andy Lee Chun Wai and Fung Kwok Wai (both Hong Kong), Mateusz Baranowski and Michał Zieliński (both Poland), Ireland's David Hogan and Ryan Cronin, Nick Jennings (England), Brijesh Damani (India), Soheil Vahedi (Iran) Mohammed Al Joaker and Mohamed Shehab (UAE) and Australia's Adrian Ridley and Les Higgins.

Now on 3 from 3 are Jeff Cundy (England), Alain Vandersteen (Belgium) and Muhammad Asif (Pakistan).

A short report on Laxman Rawat (India) v Robert Murphy (Ireland) is here:

In the Womens event, England's Hannah Jones won 3 -1 against Poland's Weronika Nowicka, but lost by the same scoreline to Ireland's Michelle Sherwin, who in turn lost to Hong Kong's Jaique Ip Wan In. Hannah could do with a win against Jaique to improve her likely position in the final 24 (assuming that 24 still go through, seems too many to me).

Maria Catalano has 2 wins from 2, one of many players in that situation, there's 7 group with 4 players and 1 with 3 players - six matches between undefeated players are due to be played, which are:

Maria Catalano (England) v Daria Sirotina (Russia)
Vidya Pillai (India) v Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan (Thailand)
Chitra M (India) v Siraphat Chitchomnart (Thailand)
Yu Ching (Hong Kong) v Arantxa Sanchis (India)
So Man Yan (Hong Kong) v Amornrat Uamduang (Thailand)
Zoe Ng On Yee (Hong Kong) v Małgorzata Sikorska (Poland)

In the final group Russia's Anastasia Nechaeva is undefeated. Poland's Ewa Pawińska won 3-2 against India's Varsha Sanjeev.

A lot of unbeaten players left in the mens competition, including a few that have completed all their group matches now - Jeff Cundy (England), Muhammad Asif (Pakistan), Adrian Ridley (Australia), Gavin Lewis (Wales) and Mohamed Shehab (UAE) - congratulations to them.

Hong Kong's Raymond Fung Kwok Wai, Ireland's Ger Delaney and Darren Morgan of Wales each have 3 wins from 3 with a match to play.

Ten of the twenty groups in the Mens have completed, qualifiers (in order of qualification):

Group A - Greg Casey (Ireland), Andreas Ploner (Austria), Wayne Morgan (Wales)
Group B - jeff Cundy (England), Gareth Allen (Wales), Daniel Dempsey (Ireland)
Group C - Adam Stefanów (Poland), Robert Murphy (Ireland), Laxman Rawat (India)

Group E - Duane Jones (Wales), Anthony Harris (England), Shane Gorman (Ireland)

Group H - Alain Vandersteen (Belgium), Michael Judge (Ireland), Khalid Kamali (UAE)
(Darren Lock out on frame difference of 1)
Group M - Mohamed Shehab (UAE), Josh Boileau (Ireland), Craig MacGillivray (Scotland)
Group N - David Hogan (Ireland), Alex Taubman (Wales), Dominik Scherübl (Austria)

To qualify for the knockout draw, Matt Lee needs George O'Hara to beat Aki Suutari (or to lose heavily).
