I thought the said they were coming back on in a minute. Didn't the commentators this morning say Eurosport were changing the schedule to show the second session live? Or was that just on the continent?

Looks pretty much done. Ding far below his best, but Xiao doesn't seem like he can capitalise and I doubt the lead will be overturned now.

It looked close at 3-3, but in the last few frames you could tell which player had been in a ranking event before, and which one hadn't. Even on my cacky intrernet stream.

It strikes me that Ding is an odd player. He can not have much impact on any tournament for a season or so, and then fly through one, winning it and reminding you how good he is.

Some players will do Selby, and get to a lot of semis/finals even when they aren't winning them. Ding is more somebody who is quiet for a while, and then BAM wins a title.

Re: Bank of Communications Shanghai Masters Final Discussion

Postby oldgreenbaize

Hi everyone, Nigel here from The Old Green Baize snooker website, hope you've all enjoyed the Shanghai Masters.

Been another great week of snooker (on the table at least) Here's my report on today's final as Ding ends an eight-year wait of glory on home soil.

Please feel free to take a look and make comments.

All the best, Nigel.

Pleased for both players, and at least in China this makes up for the negatives this week about snooker.

Nice to see Xiāo Guódòng moving the rankings, just wondering if he'll kick on from here or need more time before truly going up a level (which I think he will at some stage).

Hope Holt can draw on this week too, looked so different from past performances, hope not a one off.

Edit - meant to say, nice report Nigel - good pictures there too, how comes Xiāo Guódòng looks that happy in the 2nd pic!
