Any idea why they chose the first woman to qualify for a main tour venue to be a wildcard? Or why World Snooker persist with wildcards in a flat 128 system?

First of all i hope it wasent them choosing it that really would be stupid and World Snooker cant be that Stupid surely?

It was done at Random from the lowest 32 seeded player which Reanne as a Amateur was in that Category. My Problem with it is surely Top up players that make a Venue shouldn't have to play Chinese Top up players in Wild Card matches because Reanne or any other Top up player chances of Even playing a qualifier is limited based on pro entries.

And the Wild Cards continue because Chinese promoters want them.

Alpha wrote:You say World Snooker can't be that stupid, but then again this is the same organisation that made Wuxi City's Ding Junhui qualify for the Wuxi Classic in Gloucester...

that was fairer because its a level playing field..... Reanne evans is so far down the Q School rankings the chances of her playing another main ranking tournament is pretty remote.

Do agree, they shouldn't make top up players play the wild cards.

Any idea if the random choice bit applies to Australia? Must admit I'd assumed lowest ranked 2 as everything else is 'old system', but maybe not

OK so Reanne Evans has lost in the Wild Card Round personally i thought top up players should have been exempt from having to play a wild card but she had to and unfortunately for her, the woman's game and publicity she hasen't got a match with Neil Robertson tomorrow.

but over the years there's been talk of draws being fixed to suit the sport but nobody can accuse the draw of being fixed this week.

Good match between Bingham and Yu Delu. Bingham was behind in the first two frames, but first produced an excellent century followed by a very well crafted break to win them both and lead 2-0. He was one red away from going 3-0, but missed on 67, allowing Yu to clear the table in two visits and win the frame on the black.

Some nervy stuff from Bingham in the 4th frame, and 2-2 it is. :-)

Yep,just watched the first 4 frames between Walden n Jimmy,Waldens played absolute drivvel so far,he,s been well n truly out at sea and is struggling at every department of the game,Jimmys actualy played ok,nothing brilliant but still,he,s played ok so far,(by his standards these days) that is!.
