Just when many thought he was down n out,Higgins once again from no-where produces some brilliant snooker and goes on to win yet another tourney!. :-D

I really do think that Ronnies spured John on,given him more motivation, especially after Ronnie won the worlds for the 5th time. He,ll be as determined as ever at next years worlds and will be fully targeted on also winnin the worlds for the 5th time.

 Well done John!.

I agree with that. Even in this small PTC Event I saw in the semi final against Ronnie the full will in Higgins face. He wanted to win it badly, final against Neil the same. I think, he wants to show his old Rival, that he is capable of winning another World Title and to equal him. I hope, we see many Ronnie-Higgins matches this season. I smell the old great rivalry between them both.

Yep,i,m sure it,s made Higgins think even more now about his future,it,s made him as determined as ever, also,he,s realising that he,s not gettin any younger,so he really must make the most of the potential he still has left in him.

It was a thrashing. Robbo really disappointed the Sofia locals with that performance.

Yes a good win for Higgins, but still all this talk about Higgins being a contender for the Worlds if he keeps this sort of form is way too early cause remember most, including me, were saying the same last season when he started superbly beating Trump in that classic Shanghai Masters final and then after that look at what happened..

He didn't do anything else in the Majors apart from a semi in World Open and went out first round of Worlds. What I'm saying is he maybe needs to manage his season better and then if he keeps this up then yes a contender for big titles.

And yeah that Ronnie factor plays a big part too, as I also think he has 1 or even 2 more World titles left in him.

Congratulations to Higgins on his win here in Bulgaria, it was a fantastic tournament, level of play superb, and excelent crowds too.

Hoping it's a good sign for the rest of the season.

he didn't do a lot wrong John Higgins played superbly well.

I'm not sure if Ronnie has any more hunger and will to win more Andre. He did the highest thing in snooker by defending a World Title after beeing a year out. He did more than enough in this game. After reading his statements the last couple of weeks I think, he only plays for fun and to earn a little bit more money.

But the good thing is. He can be very freed and play his best snooker because he doesn't have this high pressure to achieve anymore. Not like a Selby,Trump,Ding or Maguire at example , who all want to win their first World title very badly.

I would say, Robbo made two very silly mistakes in the shotselection in the second frame, especially when he let Higgins back to the table and let him potting that non difficult plant and gave Higgins the force over the table. But after that Higgins was indeed the better man.

Exactly, he played even better in Shanghai final last season against Trump and then did nothing else for the remainder of the season, so this is just a good sign his form is coming, but nothing much else than that.

We'll see how he plays in the Major events.

True that, but he really should play in more events this season cause, at best, he has what, 2 or 3 more years at the very top of his game before his form really starts to decline when he reaches 40 me thinks, and should aim to level or even surpass Davis's record of rankers in 28, very much on, but I know full well he doesn't give a donkey doo about records, he's not a Hendry, but as I say should play a little bit more.

We know he has to play in 10 events to fulfill his contract, so ideally he should play the Uk Champs, Masters, Worlds, Welsh Open, maybe German Masters and a few more ptc's.
