Igor has confirmed on Twitter and there wasn't any point in Einsle playing a tournament that was designed to get players on the main tour if he wasn't interested.

Yeh i spoke to Igor online and hes well up for the challenge, he has financial backing this time but the fact its a 2 year card and a level playing field means hes far more enthusiastic than before when it was almost a lost cause for new players.
I think he can do some damage on tour next season and make a similar impact to Maflin at worst.

In my attempt to win the 'Heights of Pedantry' Championship - Vinnie qualifies as Oceania Champion not as Australian Champion

Last years IBSF under 21 Champion has had to wait a while as that was held in the summer I seem to recall. This years takes place in July (Beijing 11th - 19th).
Whereas European Championships and African Championships if their winners are invited end up starting late as their Championship finals are in June.
Would like to see World Snooker let qualified players start when they are ready, and given two years to reach a certain ranking.
If not that, I'd certainly like to see already-qualified players invited to take part in the pre-qualifying for the World Championship next year alongside the ex-pros.
One more thought - I did wonder if the new World Snooker / IBSF joint involvement with the IOC would lead to invites onto the Pro Tour for winners of Asian Games and World Games (maybe SEA Games too)

Igor has the backing now? I'm surprised he told me he didn't have sponsorship. Good on him then.
The level playing field will be interesting although I'm fraid I don't see any outstanding talent coming through q School
