Random thoughts.

I can't see Jimmy White beating Milkins somehow.

Be nice to see Kurt Maflin get through to The Crucible.

Be nice to see Dechawat Poomjaeng. Partly because Simone appreciates my; "Give us a D" gags, and partly because Jamie Cope will just bottle it in the first round no matter who he faces.

I'd like Ken-Do to qualify, but if he doesn't I want Selty to be drawn against Selby.

Please God let Jack beat Fergal. And if Fergal has to qualify, please don't let him be at one of the matches I have tickets to....

He's a Gentleman. He's Joe Perry. :hatoff:

If Gould qualifies, what are the odds of him being drawn against Neil Robertson again? <ok>

Thus ends my Random Thoughts. *

when you consider the volume of matches players play for the last 3 years with PTC etc that's amazing that almost 50% of match ups in this round has never happened before.

When you put it like that, it seems odd that there are professionals that have never played each other, full stop.

We have ten players in the final round who've never played at the Crucible before.

Woolaston, M. White, Poomjaeng, Lisowski, Joyce, Delu, Highfield, Selt, Maflin and Baird. I'm sure some of them will get through.

Considering there are 94 pros on tour (well 99 but I'm excluding Hendry, Lee, Jogia, HVA and Ziegler) it'd take 4465 matches for them all to play each other once. Not that surprising.

Plus some have only been around a couple of years, and due to the way qualifying system works it's very unlikely they'll play some people.

but in 3 years there's been 37 PTC with no system to meeting each other.

I'm not really bothered who wins most matches, because it would be nice to see either player qualify, but I'm really really hoping Gould beats Lawler and Ford beats McManus, those are the only two results, I really want to see happen.

Two attacking players, who could well set the Crucible alight if they do get through, are Lisowski and Maflin. I would love to see these two get through, and produce attacking watchable Snooker.

Can see some close matches happening, where I can't really separate them, these being Day v Woollaston, Holt v Joyce and Davis v Wenbo, these three matches could be 10-8 or 10-9.

Should be a good two days.

I really like Jack as a player, but I must admit I don't know much about him as a person, anyway still hope he qualifies !
