They revamped this into 4 groups, A, B and C with 5 players each and D with 6 players, following the withdrawal of the Iraqi, Iranian and Sri lankan teams (don't know why they withdrew).

So the new line up:

Ishpreet Chadha - India
Badr Obaid Khalifa Almehairi - UAE
Wan Nansen Sin Man - Hong Kong
Rahul Sachdev - India

Group B
Noppon Saengkham - Thailand
Khalid Kamali - UAE
Dhvaj Haria - India
Lu Ning - China
Chan Ming Tung Dongdong- Hong Kong (dongdong147 on youtube)

Group C

Vishal Vaya - India

Group D well under way, the other groups just getting going really.

With Group D, Leong Nan Hoi of Hong Kong has lost all his matches so far, and India's Nitesh Madan has only beaten Leong Nan Hoi. And Myanmar's Maung Maung has beaten both of them only. However, the other 3 players are having quite a close battle (but not close matches!), results between them:

Zhou Yuelong (China) beat Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) 4-1
Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) beat Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) 4-1
Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) beat Zhou Yuelong (China) 4-0

A couple of century breaks so far, a 101 from Boonyarit Keattikul and a 100 from Zhou Yuelong

Just when I thought there were 3 dominant players in Group D, this happened Wednesday:

Leong Nanhoi (Hong Kong) beat Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) 4-2
Maung Maung (Myanmar) beat Zhou Yuelong (China) 4-2

... but then today, some order was restored:

Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) beat Maung Maung (Myanmar) 4-2
Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) beat Leong Nanhoi (Hong Kong) 4-3

Assuming 4 go through to the knockout stages from each group, Group D qualifiers are Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan), Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand), Zhou Yuelong (China) and Maung Maung (Myanmar).

Positions in the other groups (assumes 4 of 5 players through from each group):

In Group A Zhu Yinghui of China has been dominant, only droping 2 frames. Wan Nansen Sin Man of Hong Kong will join him. And then we come to the one remaining match, and why i don't like 2 players from the same country in the same group. Not suggesting the system WILL be abused but - Ishpreet Chadha and Rahul Sachdev of India face each other in the last match in the group tomorrow morning. If Sachdev wins, he's through, joined by the UAE's Badr Obaid Khalifa Almehairi. If Chadha wins, both Chadha and Sachdev go through and Badr Obaid Khalifa Almehairi doesn't ...

In Group B Noppon Saengkham - Thailand, Khalid Kamali - UAE, Dhvaj Haria - India and Lu Ning - China are all through, although they all have one group match to play tomorrow - each player has 2 wins and a loss - Saengkham to Lu Ning, Lu Ning to Kamali, Kamali to Haria, Haria to Saengkham.

In Group C Ratchayothin Yotharuck - Thailand, Hamza Akbar - Pakistan and Ko Htet - Myanmar are through, and should be joined by Malkeet Singh of India unless he loses by two frames or more to his compatriot Vishal Vaya.

High breaks are now a 130 by Zhou Yelong and a 106 by Lu Ning.

A couple more century breaks at the end of the group stage - Thailand's Ratchayothin Yotharuck with a 135 and India's Ishpreet Chadha with a 133.

A small(ish) error to correct - Ro Htet was a misprint, the Myanmar snooker plaers name is Ko Htet.

The line up for the last 16 is:

Zhu Yinghui (China) v Dhvaj Haria (India)
Zhou Yuelong (China) v Hamza Akbar (Pakistan)

Lu Ning (China) v Rahul Sachdev (India)
Malkeet Singh (India) v Mohammad Majid Ali (Pakistan)

Ratchayothin Yotharuck (Thailand) v Maung Maung (Myanmar)
Khalid Kamali (UAE) v Wan Nansen Sin Man (Hong Kong)

Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) v Ko Htet (Myanmar)
Noppon Saengkham (Thailand) v Badr Obaid Khalifa Almehairi (UAE)

Remaining Last 16 results:
Ratchayothin Yotharuck (Thailand) beat Maung Maung (Myanmar) 4-0
Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) beat Ko Htet (Myanmar) 4-1

Quarter finals
Zhu Yinghui (China) beat Zhou Yuelong (China) 5-4
Muhammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) beat Lu Ning (China) 5-2
Ratchayothin Yotharuck (Thailand) beat Khalid Kamali (UAE) 5-4
Noppon Saengkham (Thailand) beat Boonyarit Keattikul (Thailand) 5-2

Semi finals
Muhammad Majid Ali (Pakistan) beat Zhu Yinghui (China) 5-1
Noppon Saengkham (Thailand) beat Ratchayothin Yotharuck (Thailand) 5-0
(Saengkham had a 129 break)

So Muhammad Majid Ali leaves the Chinese contingent disappointed, probably still 2nd favourite to Noppon Saengkham in tomorrow's final ...
