The German Masters is in it 3rd year Previously won by Mark Williams in 2011 and Ronnie O'Sullivan in 2012 and has been a revelation with 5 Tables in a open Plan arena at the Tempodrom, Berlin.

why they dont make this a week long event ill never know

the 5 tables set up is a joke, espec with the main tv table being miles away from any fans

with 5 tables and the flatter draw its already similar to a PTC, why not just go the whole hog and spin it out over a week and have all 128 players compete at the venue?

It should be a week long, really. There's definitely the market for it in Germany, the fans are loving snooker over there at the moment. China isn't the only foreign market we should be tapping into.

it just goes to show the Popularity of the sport alone is not enough you need people with the cash to put it up to put on these Tournaments.

they could have easily taken 64 players over to Germany and put the event over 7 days instead of 5 but it seems the money not there to do that yet.

Well sorry guys but I don't see why all the fuss about Michael White. He's been hyped since he was an amateur. He's been a pro for 5 years, has rarely qualified for the venues, has never been past the last 32 in any proper ranker. He's impressive in the balls, OK. He's a good potter, right. But his safety is beyond poor. He has no B-game worth mentioning and doesn't exactly show any kind of tactical brain. And I have seen him play quite a few times.
Nothing against him as a person, he's a nice lad. But as a player I don't rate him highly.

And he just lost 2-5 to an amateur (with something between the ears). The way he played that last red summed it up.

i agree with all that to some extent but hes 37th in the World provisionally and hes advanced using the tier system when people think its hard for young players to do

Shaun Murphy was a pro 7 years and still ranked 48 when he won the WC in 2005 and everything you say about michael there could be a discription of shaun murphy back in the day.
