Irish Championship 2012

The Irish Championship started today with the top half of the draw playing down to the last 16 (inclusive). The bottom half of the draw will take place tomorrow, and the Championship will continue from quarter finals onwards on the weekend of 26th/27th May.

Early casualties today included Mark Tuite, who lost 3-4 at the last 64 stage to Paddy Moorhouse, likewise Joe Corrigan lost 3-4 to Stephen Reddington.

The second day of action at the Irish Championship is just reaching the last 32 stage. One early exit of note today as Karl Fitzpatrick lost 2-4 to Philip Brown at the last 64 stage.

Just to note that tomorrow's final is open to spectators, no charge for entry. Venue is North West Snooker Club, Port Road, Letterkenny.
