Re: 2012 China Open Prediction Contest

Postby Andre147

There is one thing I dont understand though.. Imagine I was certain every player was going to win their respective matches. For example, I have 100 points, could I bet on all matches during that day those 100 points at the risk of going out of the competition if one player I backed lost their match, or did I have to put my points so that they could reach a maximum of 100? E.g: 5 players played during that day, I bet 20 points on each of them.. or could I bet those 100 points on each one as I said above?

Hope it´s not too confusing, but it is something I quite dont understand

Basicly you Start with 100 Bet 5 on each match and every match loses you Still with 60 points to play with ON DAY 2.

You don't need to make the matches add up to 100. If you want you can place 100 on all eight games.

when I calculate the scores if half way through if some drop below 0 I'll carry on through to the end of that day. if they've not gotten back above 0 then theyre out.

Ok, understood it now, because it is a new system didnt get it at first, but now seem to understand it.

Thanks a lot.

buck sakes paddy

The rules for this contest are new
In this contest, every contender shall begin with 100 points

if you can put 100 points on all matches that equates to 800 points not 100

Re: 2012 China Open Prediction Contest

We can go past 100 points in total per day. If it drops below 0 by the end of the day then you're eliminated, but if you go below zero mid way through a day and then regain those points through correct predictions in later matches, then you're still in. Plus it does state in the first post that the maximum stake you can place is your total number of points.

What I don't get though is the system if you end a day before 5 points. Can you clarify please, PL? (With my prediction 'skills' I may need to know <laugh>)

point is each player starts with 100 points.

meaning they have 100 points to stake on day 1 matches see how it goes then if you can aford it stake more the next day and so on.

No - because there is no guarantee of you being automatically correct. Plus, to be gambling more than you have is a risk of elimination if you get them wrong.

POINT IS THE WORDING MATE

Because your maximum stake is what you have got - so you can stake 100 on a particular outcome.

So if my maximum stake after Monday´s play would be, say, 500 points, that would be the maximum I could bet on a particular match right?

sundaygirl you have to put at least 5 points on. If you have 1-4 then you automatically double up until you have more than five points.

Who knows which tactics will prove the best :? This idea is either genius or utter folly. I am waiting with great interest to which route Paddy takes :john: but I am glad to hear the Crucible contest will be more traditional :spot on:

i dont mind the system but suerly it makes more sense to play with 100 points.

With how it works Potentially someone could be on 800 points after first day

even if 2 matches wrong it would be 600 points.
