vodkadiet wrote:My favourite moment was during the 2002 2nd match between Jimmy White and Matthew Stevens. White was trailing 5-2, and in play during the final frame of the first session. White had been missing lots of chances, infact had already missed 2 easy scoring opportunities in this final frame of this session. He was in and round the black spot again, midway through the frame, and then missed another very easy black. As the black came back towards Jimmy, he thrashed the cueball at it, knocking it off the table, and promptly shook a bemused Stevens's hand.
It was a moment of sheer anger from the usually disciplined White. The anger of all those losses over the years had finally got to him, and the despair was there for all to see.
Stevens won the match 13-3.

Patsy Fagan smashing the cue ball back up the table towards the baulk colours, as a confused David Taylor and referee looked on.

that was in the 82 WC i believe and amazingly it wasnt taken as a concession of the frame and Fagan actually went on to win that frame. Totally bizzare incident and reactions

Enjoyment of that siege was ruined by watching Thorburn boring Alex to death just so he could claim to be the first overseas World Champ!
